DAILY RAMBLING
Again last night, the cell phone rang at an unusual hour. One of our friends, I assumed, cancelling today's get-together, but no; Dave picked it up, listened for a moment and passed it to me with a dubious look and murmured ID. In some astonishment, I took the phone, listened as Chris from Liberty Wireless introduced himself and asked if I had received a promotional flyer they mailed out a while ago.

"Yes. I did receive it. However, I actually cancelled my service with you a week ago because you do things like call me at 9:30 at night!"

Unfortunately you can't slam down cell phones, at least not to any good effect. This is one of the very few instances in my life where I have felt perfectly justified in having been rude to someone. My only regret is that I didn't expound at greater length on his company's shortcomings.
