"What's the situation?" the leader asked crisply.
"We have everything under control," was the confident reply. "The government's just shut them down. Undoubtedly Lucky is either going to try and martyr herself, 12% probability, undertake some violent action against Holly Shapiro, 64% probability, or both, 4% probability. The rest of it is unclear."
    "The situation in Chinatown?"
"Well under control. The raids that we had set up earlier removed everyone from the middlemen who weren't willing to deal with us. We'll keep the situation down to an absolute minimum for as long as possible, make sure that everyone thinks it's nice and quiet, the Revolution won't be needed any longer, then start increasing production to about 60% of what it was. Revenues will stay high and no one will notice."
    "The non-Chinatown organizations?"
"We already have Don Aliese's people, who we're keeping as much of a foot down on as possible. Don Vincent's being... intractable, and we're afraid that he might have gotten his hands on some significant technology."
    "How significant?"
"Hard to say. But he certainly isn't going to be giving up anything without a fight, so if we're going to have any sort of criminal activity outside of Chinatown, keep it to an absolute minimum."
"They won't like that," another frowned.
"Bring in funds from somewhere else, that's why we're so diversified. Let them think they're getting something for nothing for a little while. Keep everything quiet, and everyone the police are going to be putting away are Don Vincent's people. We can thank Lucky for that. Then, in the end, we have no Revolution, no one to stop us, and we control the city." He closed his file and smiled. "All in all, this has been a very productive month."
