Avengers vs. Avengers!

First Contact

Victor has little time to think about his plan of attack. His now greater strength is still short of the mighty Asgardian Ravdna, but he might be able to slow her down. Though she would easily out fight him if her fighting skills are controlled as well. He quickly looks over to Dark Angel hoping he will encase them in some sort of darkforce cage, seeing no immediate action, Victor stands back away from the fight and draws his Ground Penetrating Density Spectrum Analyzer (TM) and starts quickly making a few fast adjustments and configures it into the Psychological Stability Spectrum Analyzer (TM) and begins scanning both of his teammates to determine if there is anything he can do to help or if their is any information about the possession that he could provide his fellow Avengers to aid them in freeing Ravdna and Emerald.
_Ooooooooooh Blast. Another brilliant plan old man._ Union reacts to the inhuman voices almost faster than thought, launching himself out of the range of Ravdna's lethal spear. "Avengers—Restrain them! Minimum necessary force! Duststorm—punch that hole down further! Maybe there's something down there we can hit to break the connection!"
As he's barking out orders that hopefully won't get them into more trouble, Union launches his restraining cable at Emerald, hoping to shock the young man into unconsciousness before he can raise his force shields.
Janet stood frozen within the golem cocoon of earth as she heard her friends speak in the tones she knew were not their own. It was only at the prompting of Union that she jerked herself back into action. She hurriedly flew into the hole and began throwing out dirt in an ever growing pile. She pushed her abilities to the max as she strained to move the earth to get at their enemies. It might be the only way to save her friends. She only hoped that her efforts were enough.
And then Ravdna and Emerald attack!
While within their minds, both Avengers grapple with the alien intelligences controlling their actions.
Victor has little time to think about his plan of attack. He quickly looks over to Dark Angel hoping he will encase them in some sort of darkforce cage, seeing no immediate action, Victor stands back away from the fight and draws his Ground Penetrating Density Spectrum Analyzer (TM) and starts quickly making a few fast adjustments and configures it into the Psychological Stability Spectrum Analyzer (TM) in order to scan both of his teammates to determine if their is anything he can do to help...
Her attention entirely focused on whatever lies beneath the ground, Aegis is startled by the words coming from her fellow Avengers' lips. _I think we've made a tactical error...._ She launches herself at Ravdna, trying to get in close enough that the Valkyrie will be unable to use her spear effectively. Drawing upon her martial arts training, she tries to pin the other woman where she can do no harm.
In her armor, Aegis is physically stronger than Ravdna. What's more, while training to become a bodyguard, Aegis studied with some of the best law enforcement and street fighters on the East Coast. But, neither superior strength nor a merely mortal command of hand-to-hand combat are enough to slow down Ravdna. The Valkyrie dodges past Aegis's attempt at a judo hold as easily as the nimble dragonfly avoids a child's clumsily hurled rock.
As he's barking out orders that hopefully won't get them into more trouble, Union launches his restraining cable at Emerald, hoping to shock the young man into unconsciousness before he can raise his force shields.
The conductive coil whips out at Emerald, but unfortunately the young hero is ready for the ploy. Rick watches with horror as his body moves on it's own, attacking his friends.
A glowing green hand appears in the air, grasping the cable firmly and then yanking it violently in an attempt to return the attack to its sender. The result is a bit of a mixed bag. While Emerald avoids Union's electrified cable, he fails to turn the tables on his attacker. Still, Union is dismayed to be wrenched about as the powerful telekinetic hand actually tears the cable from its housing.
Then, Dark Angel moves into action at the same time as Duststorm:
Janet stood frozen within the golem cocoon of earth as she heard her friends speak in the tones she knew were not their own. It was only at the prompting of Union that she jerked herself back into action. She hurriedly flew into the hole and began throwing out dirt in an ever growing pile. She pushed her abilities to the max as she strained to move the earth to get at their enemies. It might be the only way to save her friends. She only hoped that her efforts were enough.
The barrage of loose earth is more of a nuisance than a barrier, doing little to stop to Ravdna's charge or deluge the now airborne Emerald. As for Dark Angel, he doesn't seem to notice in the slightest as he lunges forward into Ravdna's path, a cudgel of Darkforce flying from his hand to slam into the Valkyrie! Ravdna howls in anger as she is spun about with the impact, but she keeps rushing on, slipping past Dark Angel.
The Asgardian Avenger feels a cool distance, akin to but different then the non-experience she endures while Patsy walks across the Midgard stage. It's as if she's a spectator in her own body. Sensing that The Specter's abilities are virtually unknown even to Ravdna and that this poses a great risk the entity launches the warrior woman at the once and future king of Latveria. The Valkyrie has shown much respect and restraint toward human life by attacking predominately with the blunt portion of Gugnir...this entity it would seem how no such compunctions against charging with lethal force. Almost faster then he would expect Ravdna slashes at him not once but twice!
Victor halts his modification and drops the device to dodge the charging Valkyrie.
Janet felt more than heard or saw the blur of motion that was the Valkyrie as she launched herself at Victor. She cried a single word, "NO!" as she caused the bedrock just in front of Victor to expand upwards, forming a wall 2 feet thick and 10 feet high and long. It should be able to slow the Asgardian down while she kept digging and Victor could devise something useful.
The wall of rock rises between Ravdna and Victor as the latter scrambles back, eyes wide, equipment forgotten for the moment. The mighty spear Gugnir slashes, shattering the stony barrier, and Ravdna is on top of Victor, whirling the magical weapon about for another attack. Victor sidesteps and ducks, and Gugnir's deadly point tears through the air where only an instant before Victor's throat had been!
Malachi hurtles towards Emerald with frightening speed, his fists already in motion. _Emerald's the most dangerous, got to put him down fast._
As the last of the loose earth thrown up by Duststorm rains to the ground, Malachi bursts into action, hurtling through the air in a mighty leap, swinging a devastatingly powerful right cross straight into Emerald's jaw! The young Avenger's head snaps about violently, his body spasms and twists in mid-air, and he falls to the ground, landing awkwardly on all fours, struggling to regain his bearings, but the world is spinning from the force of Malachi's punch.
Then, amazingly, last to act is Delta V, the quickest Avenger but also the most shocked by the sudden violence. Seeing Ravdna being attacked by Aegis and Dark Angel, the good doctor quickly judges that the Valkyrie is well in hand. In the blink of an eye, he moves next to the stunned Emerald and hammers two lightning fast punches into the young Rick Jones's body.
Victor kept backpedaling until he was some distance away after dodging Ravdna. Victor momentarily contemplated his situation. He nods to himself. Three things solidified his decision. One his new found superhuman strength and endurance, second, his recent successful fight against the tiger form of the KGBeast and even just now he managed to dodge the mighty Asgardian's own attack and third, Victor had died once already. Once you've died, you fear little else in this world. If he wasn't going to be regaining his phasing powers, he had better become useful to the team during combat. Being an Avenger was too important to him to lose. He hadn't had the chance to design any devices that would enhance his ability to contribute to a fight, so...
Victor puts his head forward and charges full speed towards Ravdna hoping he can knock her down or even into unconsciousness.
Whether it was the assault of several mighty Avengers, her own force of will, the passionate scream she heard deep in her psyche from Patsy, or a combination of them all Ravdna was unclear but somehow she was free of the entity's mental dominion...
Only to come to her complete senses to see the Specter barreling down on her! "Od's Blood! Dumas hold thy place. Tis I once more."
Victor skids to a halt right in front of his comrade placing his hands on her shoulders to steady himself from falling and hoping it is not a ruse.
