Powers Description (30 facets base)
Martial Arts Training Jill is a remarkably talented martial artist, someone who could easily go pro if she decided to actually commit herself to it. Her training gives her several advantages in physical combat.
  • Reflexes Training: Jill is in excellent physical condition and her reflexes are close to the peak of human potential. She is remarkably agile and flexible and gains bonuses of +6 on her Agility. When knocked down for any reason, she can instantly regain her feet, even if it is not her action. She can fall up to 46 feet without taking damage. Whenever an opponent misses her in HTH, she can opt to take 1 fatigue point to have the chance of immediately attacking them. This requires a d40 check vs. her agility, but if successful lets her make a throw or disarm attack against her attacker, with no action or movement cost.
  • Awareness Training: A part of Jill's reactions are based on her fast and perceptive mind. She has a +6 bonus on her Intelligence score. She has triple her chance of detecting danger in combat situations. When she takes time to gauge her opponent's skill and combat ability, she can increase her attack potential; this takes a full action when in HTH combat with the opponent, but when finished, increases her HTH damage by +4 for the rest of the fight.
  • Combat Training: Jill's martial arts training provides her with significant bonuses in combat. She has an attack base of 12 when fighting normal people (i.e., those without costume defense) with armed, unarmed or ranged Martial Arts attacks. She has a +2 to her attack base and a +1d4 damage with all unarmed combat. She is highly trained with all martial arts weapons, from Swords to Nunchaku to her bare hands to throwing knives, and +4 attack base. Her combat style provides her with a -4 to Evasion by all attacks she is aware of when she has room to move.
Acting Training
  • Actor's Presence: Jill is an expert at reading other peoples' emotions, and at controlling her own, making her an exceptional actress; combined with her passion for life she seems very real, gaining a +12 Presence. In addition, Jill has gotten very good at dealing with conflict. When attempting to end conflict and mediate disputes, Jill gains a +4 to her Reaction bonus. This does not work in combat situations.
  • Acting Skill: Jill is a natural actress and has spent years honing her skills. This natural ability combined with intense training gives her a +15 to her age for calculating her acting careers and hobbies. She is an exceptional actress and when in character, she is so deep that people are almost incapable of detecting that it is an act. Only people with significant cause for suspicion (physical recognition, catching her acting drastically out of character) gain saves vs. Int to see catch her, with the difficulty determined by the amount of supporting evidence.
Sonic Vibration Manipulation Device In her Host armor, Rashiel can generate and manipulate sonic vibrations for a variety of effects by mechanically changing and enhancing her bio-aura. These powers have a range of 180 feet except where noted.
  • Sonic Attacks: Rashiel can launch an attack of audible vibration that can knock people backwards and upend small cars. This attacks as Vibration and does 1d12 damage to the target. Alternately, the vibration can shatter objects with sufficiently rigid crystalline structures, doing no damage but having a 36% chance to shatter the object. Rashiel can also pitch her attack into the ultrasonic range, using a menu of frequencies designed to stun living targets—this menu includes all North American animals, world predators and humans. The ultrasonic attack attacks as Sonics and does 1d20 fatigue damage to the target. It makes no audible sound, is effectively invisible, and does no knockback.
  • Flight: By generating a standing Vibration wave behind her for use as propulsion, she can attain a flight speed of 90 MPH (180 MPH if she overrides the safety systems and risks system burnout). This is propelled flight. 20 Vibratory Defense: With one action in or out of combat Rashiel can start a Vibration based defense type. This is a combination of a standing vibration wave around her body to deflect attacks and applying micro-vibrations to ranged weapons directed at her, preventing her attackers from taking clean shots.
  • Subsonic Manipulation: By making use of the ultrasonic frequency files, Rashiel can add ultrasonic tremors to her voice when interacting with creatures on her attack list. This raises her effective presence by +12 for the purposes of interaction and communication with those people (this has no effect on mental aspects of Presence, but the suit counters external Presence/ Reaction based attacks). While most versatile when used vocally (where it automatically matches her words and tone) it also enhances non-verbal communication, though Rashiel must set the frequency to a specific effect.
  • Mimicry: In addition to a vast library of commonplace noises, Rashiel can use the sound manipulation effects of the suit to generate any noise she has heard. This is amazingly accurate, and can be used even to duplicate voices of people Rashiel has encountered. Using this properly requires saving throws vs. Intelligence on a d20 to match the sound exactly, and anyone hearing the sound has a % chance equal to their Intelligence (or hearing perception) to detect the falsehood. Originally this sound had to initiate at Rashiel, but she learned to project it anywhere within the devices range.
Rashiel has also learned how to use counter-sound effects to mask her own movements. When she wishes she can use her mimicry powers to make her movement utterly silent—this includes ground movement, flight and the noise of combat (but not the noise of her Vibration attack). While she is doing so she cannot use her mimicry for any other effect.
  • Sonic Scanning: The sonic vibration device is capable of advanced analysis of sound within its area, and can emit ultrasound and read the echoes for an effect similar to sonar. Rashiel can call up a visual of this within her helmet, replacing her sight with a basic sonar display—this allows her to ignore penalties associated with visual targeting, such as darkness, fog and light-based invisibility, but it gives her no bonuses on her chances of detection, and lacks depth and clarity. This ultrasonic scan can be focused on targets within 18 feet of Rashiel, though she must take on action to do so. The scan finds the frequencies most likely to affect the target, giving her a +3 to hit that opponent with her Sonic Attacks for the remainder of the fight. This also adds the target's species type to her target library.
Careers & Hobbies (45 years base)
  • Film Actress (10 years Focused Career, 8+ bonuses): Jill has been acting in Hollywood for most of her life, and is well versed with the ins and outs of the business the backroom deals, and the star power, the multiple takes and the grueling hours, the opening nights and the wrap parties. She is a fairly skilled player in these dealings but leaves most of it to her agent. She is a highly skilled actress, with a career of strong supporting parts and minor characters. Her most remembered roles, much to her chagrin, are several early 70s Kung Fu movies where she, under the name Lisa Cheung, played a series of villains (Lisa Cheung still has a fan following among connoisseurs of cheesy martial arts flicks).
  • Character Acting (6 years Broad Hobby added to Film Actress Career, 12+ bonuses): Jill's specialty in the field is the assumption of total characters—she's so good at it that it has in some ways hampered her career, since she maintains almost no distinctive features from role to role, preventing her from building a fan following. When she is in character, she is stunningly believable as that character—coupled with her lack of star's ego this makes her perfect to play almost any female part.
  • Fight Choreography (10 years Focused Career, 8+ bonuses): Jill has recently found a way to merge her love of acting with her enjoyment of the martial arts, that being as a Fight Choreographer for action movies. This expands her range of Hollywood contacts yo include stuntmen and special effects artists, and Jill has already earned a high degree of respect from these people due to her willingness to listen and mediate what the director wants against what's possible, along with her own not-inconsiderable prowess and experience.
  • Martial Arts (12 years Broad Hobby, 12+ bonuses): A natural at the martial arts, it's something Jill putters with, though even as a dilettante she is skilled enough to compete professionally. She has mastered Karate and Akido, and has a smattering of other styles in her repertory as well. She has a few friends in the field—former teachers, sparring partners, and such, but no contacts per se. She is regarded by the martial arts community as someone with a lot of promise, if she'd just focus, but that would take her away from her first love: acting.
  • Beach Combing (3 years Focused Hobby, 8+ bonuses): Something Jill does for fun, she is quite skilled at finding lost and/or interesting trinkets along the California beaches.
  • Art Collection (3 years Focused Hobby, 8+ bonuses): Jill has a love of beautiful things, and uses her exorbitant Hollywood salaries to collect art of various types. While she has a keen eye for the artistic value of a piece, she is also skilled at gauging the monetary value, and her collection is worth many times what she paid for it.
Weakness: Psychological Handicap Jill has a remarkable inability to form romantic attachments, ironic given her skill at interpersonal relations. Nonetheless, she always picks the wrong men, and always suffers as a result. Her attempts at celibacy always end with meeting yet another guy with a pretty face who seems nice enough at first.... She has several former partners out there whom she keeps running into, never with positive results (key among these is her ex-husband).
